Been busy and not so busy...

  • Trying to get all the end of school stuff done.
  • My oldest son had to make a scrap book. He has known about it since Christmas. They started working on it the last 3 weeks or so. It started ok but I dont think he understands that its not just a bunch of pictures thrown on some different colored paper. It could have and should have looked better.
  • Trying to reschedule all the games we missed for bad weather and the swine flu is a pain in the butt.
  • The little ones soccer team hasnt really done much this season. It seems that games keep getting canceled and practices never seem to happen. We had a game tonight. That made the 4th game of the season and we have maybe had 5 practices.
  • That is frustrating to explain to my little ones when they see their older brothers playing so much. Some parents are really unhappy about it. The dont usually reschedule the games for that age group but they also dont usually miss that many. :(
  • The oldest soccer team is in the play offs. They have done really well. The one that broke his arm in the first 5 mins of the first game is going to get to play in the 2 play off games.(not in the goal though) I hope he does well.
  • We had a baseball game Friday. They won. It was good for them. It game them some steam and confidence.
  • We had another one tonight. We were winning. They postponed the game for 30 mins with 4 mins left in the game. Then they started again and then canceled it before it was over. We may have to go back and play the last 3 mins of the game. Not sure though because I thought that the rule was if they are past the 3rd inning that the game is called a full game. I hope so.
  • We have 2 games on Thursday. Soccer at 5:30 and baseball at 7:30. We dont need to be early for the soccer game but the baseball we do. Sigh. Guess we arent having dinner that night.
  • Looking at my schedule the next few days gives me stress head. I am not sure I can do it all and be at all the places that I want to be. I also would rather do all those things without my youngest 2 but the MIL is going to be with me so I dont have a babysitter but she can help keep and eye on them.
  • The kids want to do alot of stuff this summer. I am trying to get it all put together. So that I will be able to keep up with them all.
  • One of them has decided that he doesnt want to go to his other parents house as much. He has been asking me for about 2 or 3 months now. It is weird because he has always wanted to go before then. I am not sure if something has happened or if he is just getting older and wants to stay at home.
  • He will be talking to them this weekend to see if he has to go this summer for all the weekends and if he has to spend a few weeks there. I am only thinking about this so much because I know that I am going to get the blame for it. The only thing I have told him is he is always welcome to be at home as far as I am concerned.
  • 2 of my children have always been given the choice of where they wanted to spend the weekend. I have always thought that was a bad idea because they were too young (since they were 3 and 5). I think that they are getting old enough to make the decision every once in a while. Not all the time. I think they should know their parents. All of them!
  • My hubby is working extremely late this morning. That means he will be home in the morning. He has more of these late nights since he started working for a different superintendent than he did before. I dont like it :(
  • Sigh. Good Night!

New Story...

Ok so I wrote a note to the teacher and she called this morning after talking to the little one.

  • They were playing on swings that they were not supposed to be on because there was water under them.
  • He wasnt just a little wet. His whole head was wet and the top half of his shirt. (I am sure from the dripping) His head was so wet that it was still dripping after sitting out for half of recess.
  • They were doing it intentionally. They had to be pushed really high so they could lean back that far.
  • They did it more than once.
  • His face looked like he had been mudding because he had so many splashes of mud all over it.
  • She also said had it not been so close to the end of the year she would have sent them all to the office.

I will be having a talk with him. He will be writing the sentences tonight and depending on what he has to say he may be grounded for the lie. :( I think grounding is more punishment for me. (well maybe not with him, he can entertain himself with out any TV or video games. Humm. Is thats really a punishment for him at all?)

A Bit Excessive....

Today when my kids were doing their homework one of my 4th graders brought me a paper where he had started writing sentences. He got in trouble at school today. He was playing on the swings and his friends were pushing him side to side while he was swinging (they were playing). He leaned back to move away from one of the boys and leaned back to far. His hair and the top of his shirt got wet. He had to sit out the last half of recess for it (there were others too). When he got in they were asked to sit out in the hall while their teachers (he has 2 teachers) decided what their punishment should be (uhh what was the last half of recess). Here is what they came up with. They need to write this sentence 25 times:

"I will choose to follow the rules during recess by staying out of the mud and water and not dragging my head through the puddles as I swing because I know my teachers, Mrs. Fry and Miss VanHoose, have asked me all year long to stay out of the water."

  • First off that sentences was typed for them on a piece of paper and it was 6 lines long. That means he missed half of recess and was to write 150 lines for getting his hair and shirt a little wet. (I cant see any water spots or mud spots on his shirt and its bright yellow so they would show up)
  • Its really long and has a bunch of by, and, becauses in it. If he would have written this sentence for one of his practice Taks writing papers they would have asked him to break it up into more than one sentence.
  • He has not been in any trouble at school before not even one note. He gets straight A's and E or S for conduct. The only thing that I have had that tells me he is any problem or ever even gets called down is a comment on his report card saying he talk frequently. (Not enough for them to drop his conduct grade though) This is also followed by he is a great student.
  • I am all for punishing my children when it is needed and I will punish them at home if they get in trouble at school but I find this to be too much. I told him that until I talk with his teachers that he didn't need to write the sentences.

I've got the blah's...

  • The kids are back at school!
  • My MIL won a seat to World Series Poker Tour.
  • The hubby booked a trip to Vegas. I am excited and worried at the same time.
  • The kids are back at school!
  • Last Friday we had a great baseball game. The little one got the last out:( but he played really well. He is getting better :) This was the kind of game that just came together and was fun to watch.
  • Then on Saturday morning we had an awesome soccer game. They had to work for every point and it was a close game the entire game. By far the best game I have watched this year.
  • After I went to a Bday party that I had forgotten about. It was fun and I enjoyed myself.
  • I have no idea when I am going to have my own kids Bday parties. One was at the end of last month and the other coming soon. We always have one party for both of them. We have been extremely busy and so much going on we havent had a weekend to have one:( My poor kids.
  • Mothers Day was ok. I got to stay in bed till noon. I was awake by 10 just didnt get out of bed. It was a nice lazy day!
  • My dog is barking up a storm right now. That is very usual for him. I wonder if someone/thing is out there. I am not checking cause I am the only one up.
  • My son didnt feel like getting all the trash cans from the street last week when he was supposed to. When the one he did bring up was full he just put the trash bags on the ground. There is trash everywhere now. He has to pick it by himself. He is unhappy and wants his brothers to help. They arent going to. (They switch chores every week.)
  • I have added one for one of the little ones. He has to make sure all the clothes stay out of the bathroom floor after bath time. Sometimes he is excited sometimes not so much.
  • I had a little one with an inner ear infection. Poor thing. Ear aches are the worse. He cried all night one night.
  • Thats all I got for now.

Its been a while

  • Ok so either I have been really busy or really lazy...you guess which one.
  • I cant believe all this stuff about the swine flu.
  • They have cancelled all of our youth sports until after May 11th.
  • They will give a new schedule out sometime after.
  • They cant even have practice.
  • They haven't closed our school..yet. Someone told me today they wished they would.
  • I am not worried about the swine flu too much. I wont be unless my children get sick.
  • My son turned 5 yesterday. :( Big Mommy tears. He is super excited though.
  • After getting his presents (and he was happy with them) he turns and ask where the rest of the stuff on his list was. I had to make myself not laugh because he wasn't being ungrateful he just thought he got every thing he ask for.(And he was so damn cute when he ask) After I explained that he only gets some stuff on the list and that other family would bring him some of the stuff but not all of it he went right back to playing happy as could be.
  • He also got to remove his booster chair from the car.
  • This morning he sat in the middle between 2 of his big brothers. Huge smile and talking about it the whole way. I am not going to be ready for him to start school next year.
  • I have been super happy lately but really stressed.
  • I have more to say but I will save it for later!
