This Christmas we did things a little different than usual. We opened our family Christmas at home on Christmas Eve instead of taking it to my moms. I hate to say it but it was nice. We managed to get through the holiday without fighting once. I didnt feel rushed to put everything away or to get anywhere. The kids got to play with their presents and we didnt need 2 cars to pack everything in (before you think omg those kids are spoiled remember that there are 7 of us and presents from Santa, Grandparents, aunts and uncles from both sides of the family and us are alot and some are really big).
The kids this year didnt seem to have as much as the years before but seemed to enjoy it more. I liked it. 4 gifts from us which included clothes, books, a small toy and a game or movie to share with the family. The older kids got one gift from Santa - a desk, remote control car, and a magic set. The younger ones got 2(because they were easier for Santa to make)-- both got a scooter, and then a trio building set (kinda like legos but better ...I think) and a play dough set. From others they got more games, books and a few small toys. Now all we need is a new book shelf for the games and books. I think thats not a bad complaint to have. :) I by far think this is the best Christmas of my adult life.
Oh and if you are wondering what I got for Christmas, I got a:
- Framed picture of the family pictures we took over the summer for my Mom.---its already on the wall and it usually take forever for me to hang pictures!
- picture frame mobile
- bedding
- a new monitor- I had to have one and it seemed practical.
- headset- repeat from above
- and the expansion to the video game I play.
Yep I had a great Christmas too :)
